Only a few days following the diplomatic crisis between Turkey and Israel’s Foreign Ministry, Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Sunday departed for an official state visit, to meet with Turkish Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul as well as the nation’s chief of staff.
Information released to the media indicate the defense minister will address the three big issues, Iran’s growing nuclear threat, diplomatic talks between Israel and Syria, which Turkey was mediating during the tenure of the Ehud Olmert administration, and a resumption of talks between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority).
The minister will also speak of possible lucrative defense contracts between Israel and Turkey, including the sale of pilotless drones by Israel to Turkey.
Seeking to play down last week’s diplomatic row, officials in the Defense Ministry stress the senior minister will be given a full honor guard welcome, the red carpet treatment, as is customary.
While the daily newspapers in Israel show a smiling defense minister, Turkish newspapers carry a different angle of the story, reporting Islamic human rights organizations are petitioning the Turkish courts, seeking an arrest warrant against Barak for his role in the Israeli “war crimes” during Operation Cast Lead. Such requests were rejected by Turkey’s justice minister in the past.

Honestly I would not mind if they arrested Barak on human rights crimes, after all he is the only person I know of today who is planning on kicking achenu bnei Yisroel from their homes simply because they are Jews, even in Germany and Poland Jews dont get pogroms anymore only “SETTLERS”.
