The frum community in Jerusalem’s Ramat Eshkol neighborhood has undertaken the writing of a Sefer Torah in memory of 3-year-old Rachaeli Sofer A”H, who died tragically due to a fall into a pit which contained noxious fumes. This is the event in which Menashe Kalifa was critically injured as he tried in vain to rescue her. He remains in Herzog Hospital, comatose. They are hopeful the sefer Torah will be ready for the first yahrzeit, in Av.
This week, Rishon L’Tzion Rav Shlomo Amar Shlita and askan R’ Avigdor Miller visited Kalifa’s bedside, speaking with family members.
