Rabbi Chaim Druckman Shlita, who heads the Hesder Yeshivot network, has been officially dismissed as the head of the state giyur agency, a move that is being interpreted by supporters of the rav as retaliation for his hard-line position regarding the battle between the Har Bracha Hesder Yeshiva and Defense Minister Ehud Barak.
In the dismissal notice from the state’s civil service commissioner, it states the rabbi’s age, 77, as the cause, explaining he is too old to continue in the post. As a result of the official dismissal, Rishon L’Tzion HaRav Shlomo Amar has requested an urgent meeting with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to discuss the matter.
Those connecting the dismissal to the hesder dispute explain the commissioner’s letter is dated the day following the rav’s interview in which he refused to unconditionally condemn any insubordination in the military.

Don’t be surprised when we hear that HaSh-m has plans to “dismiss” Barak…
much success in fighting those reshoim. the word democracy is used so often in the kneset- every mk is always blabbering about israel being a democratic state. the real truth is that they are still a far cry from anything like one.
May I remind the readers that Rav Druckman is considered quite controversial by most chareidim, because he allows completely secular goyim who are absolutely not planning to be shomrei Torah uMitzvos on any level to be ‘megayer’ and hands them a ‘teudat giur’ so they can marry Jews.
To Daniel #3: Do you think that if you said that to Rav Druckman’s face, he would say “Yes, Daniel you are correct, that IS what I do.”
Being that he certainly would NOT give you that response, I don’t think you have a right to make a statement like that, as if it is an indisputable fact. Just say that in YOUR opinion this is what it SEEMS he is doing.
The old saying goes “there are three sides to every story, your side, my side, and the truth.”
AiDOhd #4: i doubt Rabbi Druckman would deny what Daniel said. He does it openly. His “justification” is that it is in Israel’s “national interest.”
It is for the best that he is not in this job anymore.
His dismissal is not related to Har Bracha. The chareidim have been trying to remove him for years.
