Dr. Einat Wilf took the oath of an MK on Monday, filling the void on the labor roster following the resignation from Knesset earlier in the week by veteran MK Ofir Pines.
Dr. Wilf, 40, has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Harvard University, her master’s in business administration and her doctorate in political science from Cambridge University. In the past, she was an advisor to Shimon Peres when he served as a vice premier. She is married to Richard, a German goy, who speaks German, French and English, but no Hebrew.
To end on a more positive note, also on Monday, the MKs of Yahadut HaTorah and Shas were permitted to enter their newly refurbished Knesset offices, on the first floor. The MKs of both parties ceremoniously affixed mezuzos to the doors and hung pictures of gedolei yisrael on the walls.
