Keeping in line with the removal of roadblocks and checkpoints throughout Yehuda and Shomron, Israel Police is removing the constant presence of border police at the entrances to Jerusalem’s Machane Yehuda marketplace, explaining the security will be maintained by patrols in the area.
The border police have been maintaining a constant presence at the Jaffa Street and Agrippas Street entrances to the shuk since a wave of suicide bombing attacks plagued Yerushalayim.
The shuk remains a high-profile target for terrorists, especially towards weekends, when shoppers are preparing for shabbos. The same holds true for erev yomim tovim.

Not smart. Now the terrorists come!
My son lives on HaGripas behind Machane Yehuda. He uses the “Shuk”, to walk through to get to Rehov Yaffo. Now I do not feel he will be safe along with other shoppers and walkers. Israeli Police make too many mistakes espec. when they removed check points for security throughout Shomron, Judea and now Jerusalem. Why wait for another tragedy to happen. Wake up and smell the coffee you Police of Israel. NO ONE will be safe at this time if security is lifted from the “Shuk”…BIG MISTAKE…You are only inviting the Cancerous terrorists to plant bait.
while it seems like a stupid move to announce this, i am also grateful because i now know to totally avoid the shuk or at least at times when its just so packed you cant monitor your surroundings.

For every entrance to the shuk where these (unimpressive young female Ethiopian) border guard officers were standing, there were 2 entrances where nobody was standing.
The entrance from the parking lot between the shuk and Binyan Clal; the entrances from the western side, through the Shuk haIraki; the middle entrance on Agrippas (where the small shul is located) – no security ever stood there.
And I wouldn’t trust those young Ethiopian ladies who were mainly occupied with each other, their phones and sitting around, with catching a petty thief let alone a highly trained and prepared terrorist.
The government is a pupit for the obama administration,who has no concern for the Israeli lifes.
