According to a HaMevaser report, Hamas in Gaza is using the former local government building in N’vei Dekalim as an office, as well as the bomb shelter that was constructed in the structure is extremely well-built, to withstand biological and atomic warfare, now serving senior Hamas officials. The shelter will not protect senior terrorist officials against any Israeli attempt to strike out at them, capitalizing on the gift from the Jewish State.

The bomb shelter, or as some of the chareidi media is referring to it, the “atomic shelter” is about 120 square meters, and inhabitants can indeed remain inside for prolonged periods of time, as it was constructed as the operations center for the government of Gush Katif leaders.

At present it is confirmed by numerous sources that 4.5 years following the expulsion, the structure constructed by Israel is now being used by an arch enemy, similar to the unilateral retreat from the security zone in S. Lebanon, leaving behind much military equipment that has fallen into Hizbullah hands.

According to some unconfirmed rumors, the atomic bunker is the location where Gilad Shalit is being held. Of course there is no official comment on these rumors, which seem to circulating primarily in the chareidi community.

It should be pointed out that Hamas only came to power a year following the expulsion, and Israel at the time believed it was handing over the bunker and other public buildings to Abu Mazen and Fatah, not to Hamas.

Only a relatively small number of residents of Jewish Gaza were aware of the presence of the bunker, Kol Chareidi reports.
