Yahadut HaTorah MK R’ Uzi Maklev stands behind the bill seeking to permit increasing the number of deputy mayor serving in Yerushalayim from the current six to eight. He feels this is justifiable due to the increasing population in the capital, adding years ago, this was the case and former Interior Minister Poraz cut the number to its present six.
R’ Maklev is firm in his position, that Jerusalem is entitled to and requires two additional deputy mayoral posts.
