According to Central Bureau of Statistics released with the closing of the Gregorian year, there are 7,509,000 million people living in Israel, including 5.7 million Jews (75.4%), 1.4 million Arabs (20.3%) and the remainder, 319,000 residents are designated as Christian and ‘other’. This represents a 1.8% population growth in 2009, following a steady 1.8% annual growth since 2003.
