The Knesset Finance Committee headed by MK (Yahadut HaTorah) R’ Moshe Gafne has approved NIS 10.7 million in funding for yeshivos ketanos. The funds were expeditiously transferred with the assistance of Deputy Finance Minister R’ Yitzchak Cohen. The funding relates to retroactive funding dating back to 5769.

The Knesset committee also approved NIS 5 million for Jewish cultural projects, as well as NIS 1 million for Torah institutions as per a request from Gafne. Another NIS 2 million was approved as per the coalition agreement with Shas and there was also funding for special education institutions.
