Convicted Israeli nuclear spy Mordechai Vanunu was arrested on Monday on suspicion of violating the terms of his release from prison which prohibit him from meeting with foreign nationals or the foreign press.
When police came to the Ambassador Hotel in Jerusalem to make the arrest, Vanunu was meeting with a Norwegian woman. Police report finding a letter in Vanunu’s bag that he received from the United States, strengthening their suspicions that he is indeed maintaining contact with foreigners.
The arrest was not the first since he was released following his serving his prison sentence after he was convicted of revealing secrets regarding Israel’s nuclear program to British journalists. He was arrested in 2008 as well, and sentenced to six months in prison for the parole violation.
Defense attorney Avigdor Feldman decried the arrest, insisting it is absurd to believe that he cannot meet without any foreigners.

How about Israel handing over this guy to the U.S. as a b’mkom for Jonathan Pollard.
Sorry AinOhdMilvado but that’s quite a stupid suggestion. Didn’t you ever hear the saying “keep your friends close and your enemies close”? Israel is much better off having this rat under their noses rather than him galavanting all over the world.
Sorry for the mistake in the previous comment. It should have said “…and your enemies closer”
ani oymer – That you disagree with AinOhdMilvado is fine – but calling his comment “stupid” is not. Your comment is part of a nasty and unfortunately increasing tendancy to personally vilify anyone with whom one disagrees.
YonasonW: he mocked the suggestion, not the honorable gentleman himself.
i think he was just kidding, lets go study torah now.
