5:50PM IL: Kadima leader Tzipi Livni announced in a press conference a short time ago that her party is not going to take the offer to join the coalition government, rejecting Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s call to join the coalition.
The opposition leader slammed the prime minister’s politics and policies, indicating her party will remain as the leader of the opposition.
Earlier in the day, Livni presented faction members with the details surrounding Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s offer for the opposition leader to enter the coalition government and receive a number of cabinet posts. A number of senior party officials expressed their objections, including Meir Sheetrit, Ruchama Avraham, and Yaakov Edri. They explained they prefer to remain in opposition, not at all in favor in taking the prime minister up on his offer.
Also addressing the forum was the party’s number two man, Shaul Mofaz, who explained to the media that today, he says what he said a number of days ago regarding his party leader, “that he is arrogant and arrogance is not replacement for leadership”. He condemned the prime minister’s effort to break Kadima apart, explaining that while he believes in unity, not at any price and that is the case here. Mofaz believes that today, eight months as opposition leader, the party has gained momentum and has an expanded support base for the party’s principals.
Also coming out publicly against the offer was Likud Minister of Improvement of Government Services, Michael Eitan, who called the move bad for the coalition and bad for democracy.

Mrs. Livni, you are not much better!
The pot calling the kettle black!
What a sad joke.
Once upon a time there were “right-wing”
secular parties like Menachem Begin’s “Herut”
party. Though not traditionally frum, they had a strong sense of Jewish identity. Even having given up the Sinai to Egypt, Begin must be turning over in his grave to see what his former party evolved into, and to see the kind of people that are running it.
In the past, one could at least tell the leftist parties from the rightist parties.
Now, with (in my humble opinion) the exception of Katzele’s party, they are ALL just slightly varying degrees of leftists.
I think Yoni Netanyahu must be shedding tears in shamayim for what his brother is doing…
#1, at this point they are all little different than Abbas.
this leftist self hating traitorous quizling, was most probably promised a cabinet post in Abass’s
p.l.o government, she would feel much more at home in that government
Why did the voters go for Netanyahu, if he wants to govern with Barak and Livni?–Stupidity confounded!
“PIRUD L’RESHAIM, NAEH L’HEM V’NAEH LAOLAM”.
Tz. Livni – what an idiot! You could have been arrested in the UK, as you unwittingly were about to bumble into that uncomfortable situation. Bibi really went out & out for you, putting everything on the line while issuing as hard-hitting a protest as posssible. No Hakarat Hatov!
These Kadima people obviously not only put politics before state interests, but for them there is nothing there but poitics. It makes all the sense in the world that in a difficult time like now all forces should band together to support and lend strength to the PM in his haed-splitting work. That’s what happened before the six-day war. But no – not these Kadima clowns.
They should be hiding their faces in shame for the embarrasment they caused when they were in Gov’t. Bibi is (so far) doing a much better job than them.
WHO NEEDS THEM?!!!
