Opposition leader MK Tzipi Livni told visiting Lithuanian Foreign Minister Vyagaudas Usackas that today; Israel is confronted with matters that should be of concern to all democratic nations, particularly NATO nations.
She was of course referring to attempts to issue arrest warrants against senior Israeli government officials and senior IDF commanders for their role in Operation Cast Lead, last year’s counter-terrorism offensive in Hamas-controlled Gaza.
She explained the warrant is not a personal matter that must only concern her, or event the State of Israel, but should be of priority concern to any democratic nation identifying with the global battle against terrorism.
