Ministry of Transportation Inspectors during Chanukah have already confiscated hundreds of electric scooters and skateboards.
Labeling the effort Operation Maos (Money) Chanukah, inspectors working with customs agents, Israel Police and Industry & Trade Ministry officials are working to take the motorized scooters and skateboards off the streets, explaining they are illegal.
Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz ordered the operation, with agents raiding a number of businesses selling the illegal motorized items, confiscating them as well as an unspecified quantity of replacement parts.
