Authorities report at least one of the two truck drivers arrested for trying to smuggle 4 tons of treif meat from PA (Palestinian Authority) autonomous areas into Israel is a resident of the eastern capital.
The man has been violated for smuggling crimes in the past, seemingly undeterred by the law, earning a handsome sum for smuggling treif meat into Eretz Yisrael for profit. He was paid NIS 100,000 per ton a meat for his troubles.
Earlier in the week, YWN-Israel reported that the truck drivers were apprehended at a northern capital checkpoint.

What a dangerous situation!!!
If they are capable of smuggling meat in for Jewish consumption, not only is this obviously a serious halachic problem, BUT…
How do we know it hasn’t been poisoned and is therefore a huge physical problem too!!!
This should be treated with the same severity as if they had caught someone smuggling explosives!!!
