According to Irish Foreign Minister Micheal Martin, Israel prevented him from entering Gaza from southern Israel.
Martin told and EU forum that he planned to visit Gaza about a moth ago, but was prevented from doing so by Israel. As a result of the Israeli refusal, he canceled the trip but is hoping to do so in the coming months.
According to a Yisrael HaYom report, quoting an anonymous “official source”, the refusal by Israel is not related to the foreign minister’s desire to visit Gaza.
Israel has been maintaining a policy of isolation, not permitting foreign diplomats from making their way to Hamas-controlled Gaza from an Israeli crossing point as part of the ongoing strategy towards cutting off the terrorist regime from the diplomatic community.
