Leaders of communities in Yehuda and Shomron filed a petition with the High Court of Justice against IDF Central District Commander Major-General Avi Mizrachi, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

One point addressed in the petition maintains the order signed by Mizrachi exceeds the scope of his senior military position. The petitioners also maintain the decision was politically influenced and therefore, out of the army’s jurisdiction.

As the IDF’s Civil Administration continues traveling to communities to distribute stop-construction orders, they are meeting with increased resistance and many residents who are unwilling to just accept the new decree as a fait accompli.
