In a report that leaves many unanswered question, a Kuwait news agency is reporting the Shalit deal is underway, explaining Gilad Shalit earlier this week was transferred to Cairo, escorted by senior Hamas terrorist Muhmad a-Zahar.

According to a Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) report, Hamas agreed to transfer Shalit to Cairo to prove to Egyptian President Husseini Mubarak that Hamas is serious about an exchange deal.

While it is hopeful that the news report is true, it leaves the question why Hamas would transport the prisoner without first hearing Israel’s cabinet approved the deal, a move that must precede such a deal.

Israeli sources are questing the credibility of the Arab media report.
