The man is a well-known figure in Sderot’s frum community, with his long white beard and tzitzis visible outside his garment, a man who enjoyed the cooperation of a number of area shuls, until a number of weeks ago, when his true identity as a missionary was revealed.
Stuart Gnolin has been exposed as the Christian missionary that he is, a senior official operating on behalf of a number of missionary networks. In Sderot, he is known for his assistance to the underprivileged. In actuality, he is working in earnest to bring naïve yidden away from yiddishkeit, seeking to bring them into his fold, to worshiping his god R”L.
This past Shavuos invitations were sent to the families in need, inviting them to take part in a day of surprises, during which food parcels were to be distributed to participants. Non-profits put the word out.
Yad L’Achim got to the bottom, revealing the truth, learning that Stuart came to Israel two years ago, diligently working to form good working relations with local shuls and rabbonim. Only when he was confident that his position in the community was solid, did he invite residents, asking them to complete forms to permit him to remain in touch with them in the future.
Yad L’Achim uncovered missionary documents revealing Stuart’s attachment to their activities. One document attests to his senior position in the Joshua Fund missionary organization. Another document is an internal memo from Stuart to his colleagues, in which he boasts his success in winning over the trust of the Sderot families.
Yad L’Achim has also found photos showing Stuart with heads of the Joshua Fund and other well-known missionary organizations.
In an official media statement released by a Sderot spokesperson, city officials explain they were totally unaware that masquerading behind the volunteer activities’ of the man was a missionary, stating officials will review the file received from Yad L’Achim.

I hope he was “shown” (ha’mayveen ya’veen) the error of his ways, and “convinced” (ha’mayveen ya’veen) that it would be in his best interests to leave the country.
Can anyone say deportation? How can the authorities make sure that these people do not get in under guise of being frum yidden?
Good work, Yad L’Achim.

The headline reads “….Chareidi Man….” but he wasn’t chareidi, was he? He is an identity thief!
