Another Coca Cola Israel Product Recall

icoke.jpgOnce again, for the second time in as many weeks, Coca Cola Israel is compelled to address an unacceptable product that made its way to the marketplace, implementing a recall. Last week, YWN-Israel reported on a behind the scenes recall, one that did not really make a media splash, but this time around, the international soft drink manufacturer is not so lucky.

Bottles of diet Sprite, Coca Cola, diet Coke Cola and Kinley seltzer are being removed from store shelves along with cans of Coca Cola due to a foul odor and taste.

Coke officials report that the problem stems once again from the carbon dioxide introduced into the soft drinks, in this case in products manufactured on November 17, 2009 at 10:00pm – November 23, 2009 at 5:30pm. Company officials add most of the defective product was detected prior to leaving the factory but a quantity was indeed distributed.

The company manager, Tal Raban stresses there is no health alert and no danger to anyone, just the unpleasant odor and taste. Anyone who drank the soft drink should not be concerned.

The recall affects products with the following expiration information on the item:
Coke (1.5 liter bottles) 17-19/03/10 and 22-23/03/10
Diet Coke (1.5 liter bottles) 22-23/03/10
Diet Sprite (1.5 liter bottles) 17-19/03/10 and 22-23/03/10
Diet Coke (350cc bottles) 21-22/04/10
Coke in cans (330cc) 21/07/10
Kinley seltzer (250cc glass bottles) 18-19/03/10

  1. “just the unpleasant odor and taste”

So how does this differ from regular Cocakonomika, I mean Coca Cola, in EY?

Speaking as a 600 kilo ursine, I get very angry when I see this firm use my noble species as its symbol.
