Jerusalem Resident Arrested in 15-Year-Old Murder Case

An Arab resident of the eastern capital was taken into custody for a homicide that occurred 15 years ago. The Nabil Abu-Habir was indicted for the murder of his sister in the Jerusalem District Court, with the state alleging that in 1994, he murdered her to restore the family’s honor.

According to the prosecution, the accused followed the victim as she walked on Salah a-Din Street in the eastern capital, the same street on which the district court is located. She was accompanied by her three children, but that did not stop him from stabbing her 23 times in front of them, all in the name of the family’s honor.

As is the case with many fugitives, he took up residence in a PA (Palestinian Authority) autonomous area, which serves not only as a hotbed for terrorism, but a safe-haven for terrorists. In his case, Nabil was living in PA-occupied Beit Lechem. He recently returned to pre-1967 Israel and was arrested and indicted.
