Israel Relaxes Restrictions in Honor of Islamic Holiday

As the Islamic community prepares to mark the Id el-Adha holiday, Israel has announced it will be reducing security restrictions, another ‘good-will’ gesture towards residents of PA (Palestinian Authority) autonomous areas throughout Yehuda and Shomron.

One of the moves involves facilitating crossing from PA areas into pre-1967 Green Israel to permit family visits of first-relation relatives.  The operating hours of southern Shechem area crossing points will be increased, and another 50 roadblocks intended to distance potential terrorists from Jewish communities will be lifted to facilitate Arab travel. Islamic worshipers will be permitted to attend Temple Mount services in line with age restrictions set forth by Israel Police.
