IDF Inductees Extremely Motivated – Most Seeking Combat Assignments

With November’s induction of new recruits beginning today, Sunday, November 22, 2009, IDF officials proudly report that motivation to serve in combat units remains extremely high, 73.7% of the eligible recruits. This represents a significant increase since the November 2007 induction, which boasted 67.2% seeking combat assignments. The increase is attributed to Operation Cast Lead.

Army officials adds that among those assigned to field units, all of the inductees, without exception, will find themselves in one of their top three selections appearing on their induction application.

Greeting the new inductees will be IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Gabi Ashkenazi, who will also be accompanied by members of the Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee.
