With Iran rejecting the latest set of demands regarding its ongoing nuclear program, America and her allies may finally becoming to the realization that there is simply no alternative to military action against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to prevent him from introducing another threat to the free world.
It appears that Iran is aware the pressure is mounting, and while one cannot say if a strike against its nuclear facilities is imminent, Tehran is preparing, beginning a five-day air strategic defense exercise on Sunday, the scope of which will cover a terrain of 600,000 square kilometers in the north, south and west of the country, simulating many possibilities including a missile strike against its nuclear facilities.
Aware of the fact that Israel poses the most immediate threat, Tehran released a warning, or threat if you will, announcing that if missiles are fired at Iran, a counter attack would be launched “even before the dust from the missiles settles”, vowing to strike Tel Aviv. Truth be said, Israeli experts are well-aware that an aerial assault against Iran will result in a counter-strike, and this too is taken into consideration. One such expert is retired intelligence officer, Brig.-Gen. Yossi Kupwasser, explained the scenarios surrounding the different eventualities include the possibility of successful and unsuccessful Iranian counter strikes. Most experts believe that if Iran is attacked, long-range missiles will be fired at Israel and even in the best of cases, some will penetrate Israel’s defense system and fatalities and casualties are expected, but the senior official explained all scenarios are compounded significantly if Tehran is permitted to achieve nuclear independence.
In this week’s exercise, Iranian military troops will operate as if they are under attack, testing the nation’s anti-aircraft system. It appears the move is prompted by the latest refusal of UN terms, which has led to a sterner statements from the permanent members of the Security Council and Germany, all warning Tehran its continued lack of cooperation will compel a western decision.

The prospects for Israel in any war against Iran are not pleasant but to wait and wait while the world community does nothing will even be worse. The United States needs to be at the forefront of a combined military strike against Iran with the total cooperation of any reasonable counrty with the resources to help. the clock is ticking on a greater problem if the Iranian threat is not neutralized soon. No one including myself wants to see blood shed but there is a time to take a stand and this time is coming upon us quickly. Let us all hope that Obama has the strength of conviction to use the power of the US military to do the job and ask G-d to protect Israel and any forces involved in this hour of need.
