Report: Shalit to be Released Next Week

gilad1.jpgThe American Arabic Alhurra News Network is reporting that captive IDF soldier Gilad Shalit will be released by Hamas next week, on 27 November, erev shabbos. While stating the deal is in the final stage, it indicates the deal is set; stating Shalit will be released, partially due to mounting American pressure that includes Israel’s release of hundreds of murderous terrorists.

While details have not yet been released, the report states that Shalit will be released to Egypt, and make his way home from there and not directly from Gaza, where it is believed he is being held.

The Israeli prisoner release will be announced as a “good will gesture” to the PA (Palestinian Authority) on the eve of the Islamic holiday of Id el-Adha, seemingly unrelated to the Shalit release, perhaps to distance the administration from appearing to have given into Hamas demands.

At this point, there is no official comment on the report from the Prime Minister’s Office or any other official agency.

After meeting with French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner in Jerusalem on Wednesday, Mr. Noam Shalit told reporters he is unaware of any deal reached for his son’s release.

  1. Get Shalit out.

I live here and I’m not afraid that the terrorists that might be traded for him are any more dangerous to me than all the others that are wandering around free every day. The Almighty is going to take care of me.

    Save that boy.

  2. Although I agonize about Gilad as much or more as anyone else (other than his family), this is a terribly wrong thing to do. It is only going to causes more terrorism, more kidnappings, more death.

  3. THESE RUMORS ARE FAKE, BOGUS, ARAB PROPOGANDA, THE HAMAS WANTS TO KEEP THE ISSUE ALIVE SO IT SHOULD BRING MORE PRESSURE ON THE ISAELI GVMT. THE RELEASE FROM TIME TO TIME THIS MISSINFORMATION SO THE ISSUE SHOULD STAY ON THE FRONT BURNER.

  4. Yeshivaworld, why do you even bother with stories like this one? Go back to your own achives and see how many “Shalit will be free soon” articles you posted, and yet he is still in Hamas’ hands.

  5. I hope that he comes out of this shane. I cant imagine what it must have been like to be held captive for such a long time.
