NY Area Dinner to Advance a Jewish Galil

Under the banner “Save the Galil”, the B’Ahavat Yisrael organization on Sunday (22 November) will be hosting a dinner in the Rockwood Park Jewish Center in Howard Beach, seeking to bring the immediacy of the situation in the Galil area of Eretz Yisrael to Jews in the United States.

Organizers are well-aware that the Jewish hold on this vital portion of Eretz Yisrael is being lost as the Arabs have staked their claim to the area by creating facts on the ground, settling areas that have seemingly been forgotten by Am Yisrael.

The matter of the Arab takeover of the Galil is a top government priority in Israel, with President Shimon Peres being a leading figure in seeking to promote projects to attract Jews to the area. Nefesh B’Nefesh also informs new immigrants of incentives for Jews wishing to relocate to the Galil, today designated as a top priority settlement area.

Unfortunately, previous governments remained dormant for too many years, waking up a bit late to the realization that the Jewish presence in areas of the Galil has all but vanished.
