A Lebanese military court on Wednesday handed down a death sentence against four Lebanese citizens who were convicted of spying for Israel.
According to Lebanese reports, only two of the four convicted spies are in custody. The other two succeeded in fleeing the country, reportedly making their way to Israel. The four are said to be part of a larger major Israeli spy ring operating in Lebanon.
Lebanese authorities during recent months made many arrests, charging detainees with espionage on behalf of Israel.
