As efforts continue towards obtaining the release of Gilad Shalit, Netanya City Hall on Thursday is launching a campaign involving the Free Shalit volunteers, an event that will take place at a ceremony scheduled to take place at 6:30PM in the Media-Tech in the city.

Expected to participate in the event is Mrs. Aviva Shalit, the soldier’s mother, Mayor Miriam Fireberg and Rav Binyamin Lau.

Simultaneously, the city plans to enlist the efforts of all school children and youth movements, as well as Netanya residents towards increasing public awareness regarding Gilad’s plight.

City Hall officials report this is indeed an unprecedented major undertaking, one that is personally being directed by the mayor herself, who feels compelled to do everything possible towards assisting in efforts to bring Gilad home.
