A school minivan driver on Tuesday morning decided to cut across an unpaved area in the Nachal Te’enim in the Sharon area. He became trapped in the rising flood waters, requiring assistance to extricate himself and two girls, ages 7 and 8, from the vehicle.

The driver reports the water was rising quickly, almost to the windows, and the minibus began filling with water. Residents from nearby Moshav Ulash responded quickly to assist.

A spokesman for the Emek Chefer Regional Council told the media that when the winter storm began a number of days ago, drivers were advised to avoid the non-paved area, but apparently in this case, the warning went unheeded. Baruch Hashem, there were no injuries.
