Israel Electric Company officials are preparing for what is expected to be a stormy Monday, bringing heavy winter rains and thundershowers accompanied by strong winds. Hail is expected in areas of the north, and the storm is expected to continue into Tuesday in some parts of the country. The storm is expected to begin on Sunday night.
IEC officials report that some lines were downed in the rain on Friday and shabbos, but my motzei shabbos, all clients has their power restored.
Electric company officials warn residents not to approach any downed lines, and to report and such incident immediately, while seeking to keep curiosity seekers far away from the danger. Officials are also urging residents to remove anything not secularly tied in place to prevent it from becoming a flying danger or perhaps an object that will damage power lines.
Flooding is already reported in areas on Haifa on Sunday afternoon. Rescue workers reports residents were extricated without reports of injuries.
