The parliament of Bahrain passed a law that prohibits dealings with the State of Israel or her citizens. Anyone violating the law and visiting Israel will face a fine and 3-5 years in prison.
While the bill was passed, the Upper House must approve it to become law. The Upper House is controlled by the king, who is opposed to the bill, who feels such legislation undermines ongoing efforts towards normalized ties between Israel and her Arab neighbors.
