Ayalon Shuns Threats of Arrest in London

ayalon.jpgFollowing the example set recently by Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who was warned to bypass London during a European stopover from the United States, Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon was unwilling to cancel his travel plans despite reports of efforts to issue an international arrest warrant against him and other senior military and governmental officials. He was in London on Tuesday, continuing his mission, a public relations effort to counter the damage of the Goldstone Report.

According to Israeli diplomatic officials in London, a request for a warrant against the deputy minister has already been made. On Tuesday Ayalon addressed an audience at the London School of Economics, and he was met by anti-Israeli Arab protestors.

During meetings with government officials, the deputy foreign minister expressed his protests over the issuing of warrants for the arrest of any Israeli official, military of minister.

  1. I know its easy for me to say, but the Pals and there supporters will just be embarrassing there own country if this happens. chalila someone does get arrested, there will be an immediate pardon for whoever the PM is anyways. There are always kangaroo courts that have arrest warrants for all sorts of people. George Bush will also get arrested in half the world. The right move here is to ignore them and takeh get arrested if it does happen. They will be out in 90 seconds and hosts of apologies..The Oilem agrees?

  2. It’s not up to the British judiciary; as a minister he has diplomatic immunity, and British policemen know that laying a hand on him would be an act of war. He’s in no danger at all, and he knows it.
