A lone highjacker armed with a knife was subdued by authorities on Wednesday Egyptian officials reported. The Sudanese man was on board an EgyptAir flight from Istanbul to Cairo when he used a knife from his meal tray to threaten a crew member, demanding to reroute the plane to Jerusalem.

The crew succeeded in neutralizing the incident, and the plane landed in Cairo without incident. There were no reports of injuries.
