Protests Follow Arrest of Shomron Resident & Mother

arrest7.jpgEarlier today, Wednesday, at approximately noon, police arrived in the Shomron community of Shvut Rachel, home of Rivka Teitel, who was about to head to a court proceeding for her husband, who was for past two weeks, has been in incarceration and has not been permitted to meet with attorney.

The mother of 4, who is also nursing a 4-month-old, was detained for a number of hours by Petach Tikvah district police, despite her concerns and pleas regarding the well-being of her children.

The grassroots Women in Green organization decries the arrest, of a citizen, a mother of small children, who was compelled to “abandon her small children with neighbors” all while her husband is under detention, without being charged and without explanation.

Women in Green leaders in the media release accuse police of “kidnapping the mother as she headed to her husband’s hearing”, demanding Israel Police cease acting like they are in a Third World nation.

WiG is calling on the public to “bombard” Minister of Public Security Yitzchak Aharonovitch with telephone calls, faxes and emails (Tel: 972-2-5429944 or fax: 972-2-5428039 or email: [email protected]) as well as sending a copy to the prime minister’s fax at 972-2-566-4838.

  2. To Have some seichel,
I couldn’t agree with you more.
Of course one story influences an opinion on the other. Duh! if they can do this here they can do that to the meah shorim mom there.
Also every story has more, BUT, why are you automaticly insinuating this story can not be true?
