Chabad shaliach to India Rabbi Shimshon Goldstein on Tuesday confirmed reports that he and his colleagues have been informed by local authorities that there are concrete terror alerts against Chabad houses across the country.

R’ Goldstein also confirmed that local police have been assigned to almost every Chabad house and additional security precautions are being implemented in line with demands and suggestions from local authorities.

Rav Goldstein added that local security officials have indicated the terrorists are aligned with the same organization as those who perpetrated the Mumbai attack almost a year ago. He stressed that for him and his colleagues, it is more or less business as usual and he urges travelers to avail themselves of the services of Chabad houses, without fear.
