Lebanese media reports state the IDF destroyed electronic surveillance devices buried underground in S. Lebanon after Lebanese army forces detected their presence.
One report states that three underground devices were detected in southern Lebanon, placed in position by Israel or someone in Lebanon cooperating with or working for the Israelis. Two of the devices were destroyed in “mysterious explosions”.
Al-Manar Hizbullah-affiliated TV reports Lebanese Army forces destroyed the two “booby-trapped devices” and the third device will be destroyed shortly as well. Hizbullah reports that the Lebanese Army has destroyed the devices but Hizbullah discovered their presence.
Lebanon’s LBC News on the other hand reports all three devices were destroyed by the Israel Air Force, realizing it was the prudent step after their discovery. The report states the planes flew at a low altitude and the magnitude of the bombing raid left no doubts as to what was taking place.
Lebanese officials are signaling they may file a formal complaint against Israel with the United Nations.
Israeli officials on Sunday explained that after the recent major blast of Hizbullah weapons, it was clear as day this would be followed by allegations of Israeli violations or a spy network – seeking to even the score so to speak.
