Yated Ne’eman reprinted its Monday edition after learning of the late-night petira of Rav Shlomo Laurentz z”l. R’ Laurentz was an Agudah MK and dedicated most of his years to chinuch, heavily involved in Chinuch Atzmai. He immigrated to Eretz Yisrael from Hungary at the age of 21.
He began his political career in the second Knesset, remaining a shaliach of gedolei yisrael shlita until the 10th Knesset. He then became a senior advisor/official in the Bank of Israel, and his signature appeared on 10 shekel notes as a result.
Last week, he was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital and his condition continued to deteriorate. He was niftar shortly after midnight according to reports, at the age of 92.
The levaya will begin at his home, 17 Panim Meiros in Yerushalayim and proceeded to Har Menuchos.

Please correct spelling of his name, in case people want to look him up elsewhere, or know his books etc

Boruch Dayan Ho’emmes. I knew him well. He was a great Talmid Chochom and an extremely honest person who didn’t undertake a step without consulting with the Gedolim and then followed their instructions to the letter, something which unfortunately is seldom the case amongst politicians.
His wife was niftar a few years ago. He left very chasuveh children and grandchildren.
