The Meah Shearim mom on Friday turned to the High Court, appealing this week’s district court decision that she must leave Meah Shearim and she may remain with her children, but only under 24/7 observation.
The mother told the court that her children have been traumatized by the events of past weeks and months, calling upon the court to override the decision and permit the family to remain at home.
The state is calling on the court to take the children away from their mother, insisting she presents a danger to their well-being.
The court is expected to render its decision on Sunday.

The whole point of this is child welfare, what about the welfare of the children you are removing from everything familiar to them? Aren’t they traumatized enough? Why can’t they do the same 24/7 observation in Meah Shearim? If they’re worried about backlash from neighborhood protestors, this is the time for the ringleaders to prove what they’ve been saying all along that they’re just in this for the welfare of the family. If that’s true then let them insist that no one interferes so that the kids can stay home.
If the State Prosecutor succeeds in expelling her from her home, can he then give it to the Arabs, as in Gush Katif?
Will YWN continue the coverage of this saga until the children collect old age benefits?
Mr. Deep,
Since you brought up Gush Katif, answer the following: 1) How did UTJ vote on the expulsion?
2) Which Member of Knesset proposed a law that would make it easier to give up the Golan?
Think deeply before answering…
BARUCH HASHEM, IN THE Z’CHUS OF THE WONDERFUL MAASIM TOVIM MAY WE BE BLESSED WITH THE GEULU SHLAIMA IN OUR DAYS
Both UTJ and Shas voted against the Gaza disengagement, along with NRP. source: http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Peace/disengagevote.html
