With the UN Human Rights Council scheduled to convene in Geneva on Thursday, Defense Minister Ehud Barak has been working to head off additional condemnations of Israel.

Minister Barak has spoken with a number of senior diplomatic officials ahead of Thursday’s meeting, including a number of foreign ministers, from Spain, the UK and France, calling upon them to reject the Goldstone Commission report which alleges Israel is guilty of war crimes against residents of Gaza and possibility, of crimes against humanity.

Mr. Barak explained the report does not present an honest unbiased picture and it does not reflect factual realities, adding the report encourages future terrorism.
