Visiting in London on Sunday, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated the United States will not wait limitlessly for Iran to decide if Tehran will comply with demands set forth by the international community regarding its nuclear enrichment program. While America has played down Israeli intelligence assessments to date, the attitude in Washington may be shifting into the correct direction as Clinton and others begin admitting to genuine concerns regarding Iran achieving nuclear independence.
While UN sanctions have been opposed, Israeli experts feel the desired result is not being achieved since the nuclear enrichment process continues. In addition, recent intelligence reports accepted by the United States point to a more immediate threat by Iran than was perceived in the past.
British Foreign Secretary David Miliband echoed Secretary Clinton’s remarks, stating he does not believe Iran will have a better opportunity to establish ties with the rest of the world than today.
