In line with state leaders around the world, Israeli leaders sent congratulatory messages to US President Barak Obama, who was selected as this year’s recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, to the surprise of many.
Unlike most members of the diplomatic community, Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin did not hide his surprise, telling the daily Yisrael HaYom that “the decision to give the prize to the president in the beginning of his term in my eyes is strange, perhaps very strange. I have a feeling this will compel him to advance Mideast peace efforts, but this will not result in a lasting true peace for generations”.
Also mentioned in the media is the silence of Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, with ministry officials explaining they are relying on the official congratulatory message delivered on behalf of the State of Israel by President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, adding it is unnecessary for each cabinet minister to echo the message. Defense Minister Ehud Barak also congratulated President Obama.

That Barry Obama received a Nobel Peace Prize, which is really worthless, is something I have no doubt he expected, his fake humility speech not withstanding. What he in his mind is wondering, “What took them so long?”
“Unlike most members of the diplomatic community, Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin…”
Rivlin isn’t a member of the diplomatic community.
Maybe he was actually awarded the ‘PIECE PRIZE’ because he tried to satisfy every one. He gave a piece to him and a piece to them and a….
What’s Rivlin doing telling the truth.
Everybody knows Obama hasn’t brought peace to the world yet. In fact he’s the Commander in Chief of a huge army fighting two wars at this very moment.
But Rivlin should have ‘congratulated’ him with a big ‘yasher coach’ anyway, just to keep the Dandy in the White House from being dissed by him.
the only reason he got this noble peace prize is because he is a jew hater when you are an open jew hater you get a noble prize
