Gunfire rang out on Thursday afternoon at about 3:35pm, directed at a bus traveling between the Israeli Arab communities of Kassam and Bara. A teenager was gravely wounded, struck in the back and chest, and died of the massive injuries a short time later in Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikvah. A second teen appears to be in moderate condition at Beilinson.

An investigation is underway. Police believe the shooting was motivated by an argument between students, a dispute that has been ongoing for a number of days.
