ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) officials report a sharp increase in terror attacks and incidents in September 2009, citing 95 attacks as compared to 53 in August. These numbers include actual attacks as well as attempted attacks against Israelis.

The most significant increase was in the Gaza sector, reporting 45 attacks as compared to 19 in the previous month. This is due to the sharp increase in rocket attacks, numbering 17 for the month. 

Jerusalem recorded 12 incident as compared to 2 in August and 2 in July. The report adds that most of the attacks in Jerusalem, Yehuda and Shomron involved firebombs.
