15 years after Israel expelled Jews from Yericho there will be a brief return to the Shalom Al Yisrael Shul, which has been under PA (Palestinian Authority) occupation and has since been the target of arson attacks and vandalism. Authorities will be permitting Hoshanah Rabba tefillos and learning in the ancient shul on Thursday night.

The arrangements to provide security for the expected large crowd will be handled by the IDF in cooperation with PA security forces.
