Truth be said, there is nothing new with the US Department of State travel advisory for Sukkos week pertaining to the Old City of Yerushalayim, mentioning Monday, the day of birchas kohanim especially. America routinely warns against visiting “occupied areas”, which more or less amounts to all areas that are holy to Am Yisrael.
The State Department warning speaks of the “pilgrimage” on Monday, which will attract the “largest crowds” warning Americans to keep a safe distance. The warning does not only address terror concerns, but crime including pickpockets.
The State Department generally issues warnings, and Friday afternoons are a standard time when Americans are advised to avoid the Old City of Jerusalem, mentioning “Friday prayers” but failing to point out the violence during the prayers refers to Islamic Arab attacks against innocent civilians and security forces, and they have nothing to do with Jewish violence as many may believe. In fact, the well-worded warnings are indeed directed to mislead one into believing Jews may be the source of civil unrest and violence.

The Department of State has been issuing these warnings for decades. When I worked for the US Defense Department, I and my (Jewish and non-Jewish) colleagues routinely ignored these missives whenever we visited Israel. I relished davening Minchah on Erev Shabbos at the Kosel.
It’s a combination of DoS’s paranoia and their historical Arabist bent.

Yes #3-R Gluck, indeed what fools SOME of us ARE!! The State Department had been viciously anti-semitic since (at least) World War 2. Any aid Israel gets is DESPITE them, NOT because of them. AND… don’t forget that a significant per-centage of that aid MUST be spent in the U.S. (i.e. with American military contractors, etc.) so the money goes right back to the U.S. -Furthermore, the U.S. uses that aide money to intimidate and pressure Israel’s weak “leaders” into suicidal concessions. Yeah – thanks for that.

#4,5, my advice to you is, go and read a little history and you will discover that anti semitism during world war 2 was commited by European countries, the US has been stadfast in their support for Jews and Israel for you whining idiots to think other wise proves my point how ungrateful you people can get. the day will probably come when the US will become really anti semitic and cut the aid and impose sanctions on Israel , then you will look back and say, huh maybe R Gluck was right, they were not so anti semitic back then.

Try looking into a little episode that is known as “The Voyage of the Damned” where hitler, yimach shmo, to prove that other countries don’t like Jews either, set free a whole ocean liner of Jews and sent them to the west. THE UNITED STATES (among others) REFUSED TO LET THEM ENTER, and they ultimately had no choice but to return to europe and face the fate of millions of others in the Holocaust! OR… how about the fact that Roosevelt refused to bomb the train lines to Aushwitz even though he was begged to do so? Is that your idea of “steadfast in support of Jews”??? Let America cut its aide and impose sanctions! Do you think the future of Israel and the Jews is dependent on America? You’ve got it backwards!
