Undergoing a local light anesthesia intended to enable Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to tolerate invasive medical procedures; Mr. Netanyahu on Sunday morning underwent a colonoscopy and cystoscopy following the discovery in the past of non-malignant polyps.
During the early-morning procedure at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, the prime minister was reportedly in an altered mental state for 15-30 minutes. He is reported to be in good health following the diagnostic exams.
Following the exams, the prime minister returned home to rest for a number of hours before resuming his demanding schedule.
After consulting with Attorney General Menachem Mazuz, the decision was made not to appoint someone to fill in for the prime minister during the procedure.
