According to Thursday morning news reports, quoting anonymous sources connected to mediation efforts on Gilad Shalit’s behalf, the siddur and tehillim given brought to Gaza before Rosh Hashanah will be delivered to the captive soldier.
The news comes a day following the announcement of the planned release of 20 female terrorists in exchange for a video confirming Gilad is alive. The video was reportedly viewed by German officials, who mediated the deal, and they explain it does represent legitimate testimony to Gilad being alive.
The deal exchanging the video for the release of the prisoners is set for tomorrow, Friday.

how can a video confirm he is still alive? even if the video speaks of current events from last week or shows a newspaper dated from last week, how do we know hamas,YI”S, didn’t execute him, C’V the day after the video was filmed? Nothing is for sure with these cold-blooded murderers. I think that if Israel is to release 20 female terrorist (a heavy exchange for the uncertain), they should ask for regular visits from a third party like the red cross, for example, to monitor he is still alive and administer care on a regular basis. It would be a ness if they agree to this kind of deal.
What can the nations complain about if the IDF goes in and shoots up their neighborhood until they release him. Instead of giving up murderers to see if he’s alive we should capture thousands of palestinians until they release him alive. Where is Obama and his anti torture policies?
I dont believe it, but I hope this becomes manifest.
Further, I think Jimmy Carter, the media, and an envoy of various other officials should delivery these items. I am afraid, heaven forbid, that hamas would be destructive to these items as another way to victimize Gilad.
hopefully they are smart and are planting a gps device in the tehillim
