Three yeshiva bochrim were fortunate to escape unharmed as the three were targeted by Arabs at a dark northern Israeli bus stop on Tuesday morning.
The three, residents of Bnei Brak, were making their way to their yeshiva, in Tzfas. They were hitchhiking, not taking public transportation. At around midnight, they were at Achihud Junction, waiting for a ride towards Tzfas. A vehicle pulled up, and three Arabs got out, immediately beginning to accost the yeshiva bochrim. They ran and the assailants decided to take advantage of the situation – setting the belongings of the three ablaze, including sifrei kodesh and their tefillin, the daily HaMevaser reports.
Israel Police Galil District Chief Avi Edri confirms the report, stating the boys called for help and a patrol vehicle was dispatched, finding the three near the bus stop. Edri stated their belongings were totally destroyed by fire.
Edri used the incident to stress that police and rabbonim have spoken openly against hitchhiking, citing the dangers, adding that Baruch Hashem, in this case the outcome was relatively good, explaining the boys were physically unharmed. He urges travelers to use public transportation.
Regarding the investigation, he stated the boys gave a good description of the assailants and their vehicle, and he is confident they will be brought to justice.

“they will be brought to justice”??? Let’s see. Can we get some follow-up on this story. I hope I’m wrong but I’d bet that even if apprehended, they will get off with a slap on the wrist.
If anyone tears out a page of the koran or steps on it, we’d hear very loudly from the Arab population!!
#2 Rikki – Right you are! It would be front page news in the papers and the lead story on radio and TV. You wont see this story anywhere but the frum media. What else is new? Jew as victim is not news, Jew fights back, – THAT is news!!!
The three bochrim were hitchhiking “at a dark northern Israeli bus stop?” In addition to anything else, I hope they get a firm mussar shmooze from their Rosh Yeshiva and parents for so foolishly putting themselves in a dangerous situation. The Ribbono Shel Olam clearly had rachmunis on them.
