Responding positively to an anti-nuclear watchdog organization, NYC’s Helmsley Hotel has canceled an event hosting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who will be in New York City, attending the United Nations General Assembly.
Corporate official Howard Rubinstein told the media that as soon as they heard Ahmadinejad of members of the Iranian mission may attend the function; orders were given to cancel it.
Officials affiliated with United Against a Nuclear Iran explain that any companies welcoming the Iranian delegation helps to undermine American policy and UN sanctions intended to halt Tehran’s nuclear program.
The General Electric Company has also joined the effort, announcing it will not do business with Iran or other nations that sponsor terror.
