Attorney General Menachem Mazuz ruled that rabbonim employed by the state are forbidden to charge for performing a chupah in the city in which they work. His statement came as part of rules and regulations announced by the attorney general in line with proper conduct for civil service employees.
Mazuz added a rav employed by the state may not perform more than two marriages in one night and he is also required to file the appropriate paperwork with tax authorities.
