As Rosh Hashanah 5770 approaches, the Central Bureau of Statistics reports there are 7.5 million people living in the State of Israel, including 5.6 million Jews. There are 500,000 Arabs and 300,000 “others”. Four million of the nation’s population is sabras, that is to say they were born in Israel.
When the state was declared in 1948, native born Israelis comprised 35% of the total population as opposed to 71% today.

There is something wrong with this math. if there are 7.5 million people, and 5.6 million of them are jews, then there are 1.9 million people who are not Jews.
OK, so 500,000 of them are Arabs. That leaves 1.4 million people unaccounted for. 300,000 are “others”. So that leaves 1.1 million people as what? Aliens?
Who writes this stuff?
